Massive Blunder by Rahul Gandhi,Neither Jyotiraditya Scindia nor Digvijay Singh made President

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took a contentious call with respect to the critical Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections that will be held at the end of this year by appointing senior party leader and Chhindwara Lok Sabha MP Kamal Nath as the Madhya Pradesh PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) President.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Congress Lok Sabha MP from Guna, meanwhile, was appointed as the chairman of the party’s campaign committee.

Former Madhya Pradesh CM and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh hasn’t been named to any of the top-6 posts in the most recent release

The official release by the party, issued by former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, reads:

The Honourable Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi has appointed the following persons in the state of Madhya Pradesh with immediate effect:

PCC President – Shri Kamal Nath

Chairman, Campaign Committee – Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia

Working Presidents:

1. Shri Bala Bachhan
2. Shri Ramnivas Rawat
3. Shri Jitu Patwari
4. Shri Surender Choudhary

The party appreciates the hard work of Shri Arun Yadav, who will be stepping down from his responsibility as PCC President of Madhya Pradesh.

In the 2013 Madhya Pradesh assembly elections for 230 seats, the BJP, led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan had increased its seat-tally from 143 to 165, while the Congress’ tally fell from 71 to 58. Elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will also be held during the same timeframe.
