Crack in Anti-Modi Front even before its formed? Video show Furious Mamata Banerjee at Kumaraswamy’s swearing in

By  |

While the Opposition made a massive show of strength all of Wednesday around the swearing-in of the HD Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JD(S) government, all wasn’t well, it appears, with one of the most influential leaders of the anti-Modi front.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was one of the first to arrive in Bengaluru for the swearing-in, spending the previous night in Karnataka’s capital and even issuing a combative slogan for the regional parties’ collective, saying “Jo Humse Takrayega, Woh Choor-Choor Ho Jayega (Whoever clashes with us will be crushed to bits)”..

However, a sensational video has now emerged from the oath-taking ceremony itself. In the video something appeared to have seriously miffed the Trinamool Congress supremo whose body language was markedly different, as she furiously protested about something to CM Kumaraswamy and his father and former PM HD Deve Gowda.

In the sensational video that can be viewed above, Mamata Banerjee walks up to Kumaraswamy and Deve Gowda, with the mic seemingly picking up her complaint. She says something about Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, who were also present at the Vidhana Soudha. She also then goes on to use the word “insult”. Kumaraswamy and Deve Gowda fold their hands as she complains. However, at an inconclusive juncture, she walks away.

Here’s a full sequence of what happened –

Mamata Banerjee:

‘SEE… SEE…’

‘…IT’S NOT MY FAULT… (INAUDIBLE)’

‘…SONIA GANDHI AND RAHUL GANDHI…’

‘…WHO IS NOT CHIEF MINISTER (INAUDIBLE)…’

‘…YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO…  (INAUDIBLE)’

‘…INSULT…’ (INAUDIBLE) ‘…PARTY…’

*Kumaraswamy folds hands*

Mamata Banerjee: ‘…I AM LEAVING. SORRY FOR LEAVING  (INAUDIBLE)…’

*Deve Gowda folds hands*

*Mamata Banerjee leaves*

Furthermore, during the immediate aftermath of the swearing-in, as the Opposition leaders came together to wave at the crowd and pose for cameras, Mamata Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi appear to avoid one another. In the second clip that’s going viral, as Mamata Banerjee turns away, Rahul Gandhi too turns in the other direction and shakes hands with Chandrababu Naidu before returning to the back of the stage. Watch the entire sequence in the video above.
